While researching the "Must Haves" for bringing home your new baby, you will definitely come across products that are over your budget. Not everyone can afford these high priced items, so I decided to compile a list of budget friendly alternatives. Enjoy!

#1 Doc A Tot

My top item HAS to be the "Doc A Tot." Only because i really wanted it...until I looked it up and saw the price tag. It really caught me off guard and i was disappointed.

I have never heard a bad review about it, and its adorable, but I just can't justify spending $138 - $200 on something I only see myself using for six months. Or dropping $300 on the "Doc A Tot Grand." Some people do use it all the way through the toddler years, but I just don't see myself doing the same.

If you look on their website I don't think they have a single review that's under 5 stars, which says a lot. In the future if I had the extra cash laying around I might decide to splurge and get one. For now however, I would probably stick to a more budget friendly alternative, like this "JHion" baby lounger I found on Amazon for $58.99 or even the "Boppy Newborn Lounger" for $29.89.

You could also search around and find other similar products. Etsy has a ton!

#2 Uppababy Vista Stroller

This stroller didn't get the chance to surprise me with its price. The first time I saw it was in a video review that started with a warning about it being an investment item. The "Uppababy Stroller" costs a staggering $899.99 and that doesn't include the second "rumble seat" if you have two kids and want to use its double stroller features. It does come with a bassinet, a normal stroller seat, two mosquito nets, and genuine leather on the handle and bumper bar (if you're into that).

This is another product with few, if any, bad reviews. People who have it rave about it.

There are a lot of features with this stroller, but if you're looking for a convertible stroller you have other options.

You could try either the "Graco Uno2Duo" double stroller for $450 or the "Baby Trend Double Sit N Stand Stroller" for $169.

Amazon also has these strollers, and most of the time they're even less expensive, plus free two day shipping!

#3 Mamaroo

The "Mamaroo by 4moms" is priced at $250. It does have a lot of cool motion and speed patterns, plus it gives you the option to add your own music or sounds in addition to the four programmed sounds already included.

This one seems to have mixed reviews. Moms either love it, or they just don't. Most who don't love it give it a bad review because their baby didn't like it. This is not surprising, considering every baby is different. This swing won't even be used for more than a year most likely, so if you are not going to have another baby or you won't have room to store it when your baby is done using it, I would go for something a little less pricey.

I would try something like the "Fisher Price Cradle N Swing" for $120 or the "Graco DuetSoothe Swing and Rocker" for $114.
